Frequently asked questions

Why does a handmade leather holster cost $120-$150?

Unlike mass-produced holsters, every Resurrection holster is handcrafted by a single craftsman in Alabama — not a factory line. Here's what goes into each one:

  • Full-grain leather — the highest quality leather available, built to last decades
  • Wet-molding — each holster is custom-formed to your exact firearm model for a perfect fit
  • Hand-stitching — every stitch is placed by hand for strength and durability
  • Tek-Lok mounting system — premium hardware that's secure, adjustable, and tool-free
  • Hand-burnished edges — finished by hand for a polished, professional look
  • Lifetime durability — this holster will outlast your firearm

You're not buying a commodity — you're commissioning a custom piece built specifically for you.

How long does it take to make?

Production time is 4–6 weeks from the day you order. Here's why:

  • Week 1-2: Leather selection and preparation
  • Week 3-4: Wet-molding to your exact firearm
  • Week 5-6: Hand-stitching, edge finishing, and quality inspection

Every holster is made to order by a single craftsman. We don't cut corners, and we don't rush. Quality takes time.

Can I get it faster?

Because every holster is custom-built by hand, we can't rush production without compromising quality. If you have a specific deadline (training class, competition, etc.), contact us before ordering and we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

What's the difference between lined and unlined?

Unlined ($120):

  • Full-grain leather exterior
  • Natural leather interior (may show texture from wet-molding process)
  • Lighter weight
  • Classic, traditional look

Lined ($150):

  • Full-grain leather exterior
  • Smooth leather lining on the interior (extra layer of leather added)
  • Protects your firearm's finish from wear
  • Smoother draw
  • More refined finish

Both options are built to the same quality standards — it's a matter of personal preference and how much protection you want for your firearm's finish.

What if my gun isn't listed in the dropdown?

No problem! Select "Other" from the firearm dropdown and enter your make, model, and any relevant details (barrel length, frame size, etc.) in the text box. We'll confirm compatibility and reach out if we need any additional information before starting production.

Will this holster fit my gun with a red dot sight?

Our standard holsters are wet-molded for firearms with standard sights only. If your gun has a red dot optic, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss your specific setup and ensure proper fit.

What if the holster doesn't fit?

Every holster is wet-molded to your exact firearm model, so fit issues are extremely rare. However, we stand behind our work. If there's a fit issue, contact us within 30 days and we'll make it right — whether that's an adjustment, remake, or refund.

Can I return it if I don't like it?

Because each holster is custom-made to order for your specific firearm, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. However, if there's a defect in materials or workmanship, or if the holster doesn't fit as specified, we'll make it right. If you have any questions or concerns before ordering, please reach out — we're happy to help you make the right decision.

How does the Tek-Lok system work?

The Tek-Lok is a secure mounting system that attaches to belts up to 2.25" wide — no tools required. It locks firmly in place and can be removed and reinstalled quickly when needed. It's one of the most trusted holster mounting systems among law enforcement and competitive shooters for its reliability and ease of use.

Do you offer different colors or finishes?

Currently, all Resurrection holsters are finished in black dye with hand-burnished edges. This classic finish is durable, professional, and pairs well with any carry setup. If you're interested in a custom color or finish, contact us to discuss options.

How do I care for my leather holster?

Full-grain leather is naturally durable, but a little care goes a long way:

  • Break-in period: Your holster may feel tight at first — this is normal. The leather will conform to your firearm with use.
  • Conditioning: Apply a leather conditioner (like neatsfoot oil) once or twice a year to keep the leather supple.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Avoid water: While leather can handle moisture, prolonged exposure can damage the finish. If your holster gets wet, let it air dry naturally.
Do you ship outside the USA?

Currently, we only ship within the United States. If you're located outside the US and interested in ordering, please contact us to discuss international shipping options.

How We Make Our Wallets

We start by taking our leather pieces and rubbing pure Neatsfoot Oil into the leather to darken and soften the leather for stitching. We begin slowly saddle-stitching the leather together until we have a finished custom leather wallet.
